Busy Background Bees

While the cast is learning blocking, cues, music and telling everyone they know to buy tickets,
there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes.

This production is keeping some busy people EXTRA busy:

  • Lanny is scurrying all over town getting sponsors for the show.  He and Peter have got about 25 percent of the expenses covered in just a couple of weeks
  • Susan Dockter and Jeannette Boltz are planning a Les Mis Grand Preview Gala for raising a significant portion of the cost of the show.  Saturday, November 23rd - Black Tie.
  • Chrissie has got a full schedule of meetings with leads for character development.
  • Jeff Nelson has been burning up the Internet with emails and announcements as he acquires the last few instruments for the orchestra.  Music scores will arrive from the licensing agent any day now!
  • Peter has been building the Garden Gate and the cart for the Cart Crash. And staying up nights.
  • Lots of folks have helped with set building - Dan Snow, Bob Steel, Lanny, Dave Thomas, John Dockter, Erika Maruri, Kate Barba, Jeff & Jennifer Jackson, Barb & Charlize Garaygay, Kim & Kelsi Havercroft, Ned Heaney, Tami & Erina & Bella Brida, Michelle & Barry & Trinity & Taryn Harwell, Tim Chapman, Steven Kliner....probably more...
  • Terri Thomas has been buying fabric at every garage sale and secondhand store- and then going home and dyeing it!  She's assembled a group to help with over 70 costumes. She has Regina Drennan, Holly Salvestrin, Erika Maruri, Chrissie, Ali LaVanway, Susan Felton, Christine Kiekhaefer, and Carol Cramer feverishly repairing, ironing, cutting, sewing and organizing.
  • Afton has been showing us (and re-showing us) her dance moves - our production is going to be so much richer for her enhancements through choreography.
  • Marc Bonham has been working on the sound design with Peter.
  • Dale has Reviewed and revised the vocal rehearsal schedule and has started attending every rehearsal to assist with any song issues.
  • And, our Guardian Angel, Nancy Christeson has been working the ticket sales with our on-line rep Brown Paper Tickets...

What we need you to do:
  • Note the extra performance set for the Gala preview, November 23rd.  This will be a very important night for the production and for the theater- as we will raise most of the funds for the show.  Details to follow...
  • Tell your family and friends to buy tickets.  As we make fliers available, please post them wherever you have access to a bulletin board, newsletter, or any advertising venue.
  • We need sponsors - if you can get us an audience with your employer (see Peter) or get an ad in the program (see Nancy), it will help tremendously.  15 ads can pay for the whole program.  Let's talk. We can also put in ads from well-wishers.  A business-card size JPG file is $40 - email Nancy at the office.
  • Plan on being at the August 16th fund raiser at the theater to perform One Day More.  Also bring a donor.  Please let Peter know ASAP if you can't be at that performance.
  • Please practice your singing EVERY DAY!   Ask your ensemble leaders, Dale, Peter, Chrissie, or Afton for help if you need it.
  • Hold the Barricade.

Also, double-check your rehearsal dates on this page each week for any adjustments.
You are looking and sounding better and better - it is fun to listen to and watch.

Thank you, thank you!
