Rehearsal Notes

Rehearsal Location and Etiquette

From now on all rehearsals are at Imagination Theater unless announced otherwise.
Les Miserables is sharing the production space with our fall production of Deathtrap.  Deathtrap will typically be rehearsing on the stage while Les Miserables will be rehearsing in the Lobby area.

Rehearsal Guideline:
  1. Please enter the building through the double doors by the ticket office.
  2. Please resist the temptation to open the double doors to the theater from the Lobby to “peek in to see what is going on on-stage.”
  3. Please keep the noise level of discussions, greetings, spontaneous singing, and general pre-rehearsal cavorting to a minimum.  If we don’t, the 74 cast members of Les Miserables will overwhelm the four people in Deathtrap!
  4. Place belongings on the shelf unit in the corner next to the piano rather than scattering them throughout the room.
  5. Sit in the chairs, stools, or on the floor opposite the snack bar.  This will be our “backstage” for rehearsal purposes.
  6. Wear cool & comfortable clothing… the building will be “warm” in July and August.  Flip-flops are okay for now before construction begins.  Bring water!  We will have fans running, but if you have an extra electric fan that you can leave at the theater for awhile, please bring it.
  7. Please remember that children under 12 must have an adult with them at rehearsal.  We love that children are part of our IT! family, but with a group this large, the noise of their excitement can get a little out of hand.  It’s okay for an adult to take them outside until time for their participation.

Rehearsal Attendance

Many of the cast are being very helpful and diligent about using the Schedule Conflicts section of the cast Blog...  however some of you are not!  Some cast members are not bothering to call, e-mail, or post on the blog that they will not be at a scheduled rehearsal.  This is very difficult for the creative team to deal with, reduces the effectiveness of rehearsals, and is disrespectful to everyone involved with the show.  The missing of rehearsals is the greatest single threat to the ultimate quality of the production.

Please let us know if you must miss any rehearsals. Please honor your fellow cast members and the commitment you made in accepting a role in the show.   EVERY SINGLE REHEARSAL IS IMPORTANT FOR A SHOW OF THIS SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY.

If you still cannot use the schedule conflicts page, please send an email and let us know.  The Evil Blog Mistress has solved a few of the problems and is ready to assist.  In the meantime if you still can’t post, please send an email to or text Dale or Peter if you can't be at their rehearsal.

Go to the bottom of the blog page and subscribe to be a follower if you would like to receive an email each time the blog is updated.  This will give you notifications of schedule changes.

On a Separate, Unfortunate Note

Out of respect for your fellow company and your own personal safety, please remember the IT! policy regarding physical contact at the theater.  To put it more plainly, young people seen necking at rehearsals, performances or other IT!-sponsored events will be invited to quit the show.  Anyone witnessing any activity at the theater that causes them to be uncomfortable should talk to Peter, Lanny or Karen.
Old people seen necking will be congratulated.
